"Mehdi Bigdeli shared with us two beautiful Persian songs. The audience was captivated as he sang Ta Bahareh Delneshin (suit spring), a beautiful monologue about a lover. He takes evidence from the nature and its beauty to convince his lover that they should finally be together. He shows how desperate he is without her and how he is wandering around to find her.
The second song, Booyeh eidy (the smell of New Year presents) or Koodakaneh (childish), tells about a kid in some cold, boring winter day. She refreshes her memory with all the beauty of the New Year and spring, remembering the smell of the new, fresh bills received as gifts (usually new year’s gift in Iran are in the form of money). She remembers "Ghashogh Zani" (Persian version of "Trick o Treat"). All these memories help her to bear the boring, long winter nights. This song is a symbol of hope."
